An eight week artist residency offering creatives the time, space and freedom to explore, experiment and develop new work.

Residents will work from a dedicated studio space in Mérida, providing a place to create while immersing themselves in the culture, landscapes and communities of the Yucatán Peninsula. The residency is an opportunity to explore the city and its surroundings, discovering its history, traditions, craft, food and creative influences while using these experiences as inspiration for a new body of work.

Artists are encouraged to create in whatever form feels natural to them. From painting and sculpture to photography, film, food, craft, performance, design, welding or something entirely unexpected. Estudio Nuk welcomes all creative disciplines.

Throughout the two months, residents will have the opportunity to connect with local artists, makers and communities, while developing a project inspired by their time in Mexico.

In collaboration with Espacio47, a creative co-working space in Mérida, Estudio Nuk connects visiting creatives with the local artistic community. The residency will culminate in an exhibition, offering residents the opportunity to present the work developed throughout their time in Mexico.
