Estudio Nuk started with a trip. In 2019, Projekt founder Nick travelled to Mexico and was quickly drawn to the country, its history, culture, people, landscapes and the strong sense of connection found within its communities. During his time there, he began meeting people who shared a similar outlook, and what began as a visit soon became a place he wanted to return to, spend more time in and build a deeper connection with.

From those relationships, the idea for Estudio Nuk slowly grew; a space for exchange between the UK and Mexico, where artists could step away from their everyday surroundings, experience a new culture and find inspiration through new conversations and connections.

The name itself ‘Estudio Nuk’ comes from Nick’s daughter, Nuk. It reflects the personal nature of the project and the idea that the things we create, the places we build and the connections we make can continue to grow beyond ourselves.
