About Projekt

Based in London, Projekt specialises in transforming underused spaces into places with purpose. Through meanwhile projects, we work with buildings and communities to create environments where people can work, meet, make, learn and share ideas. From workspaces and studios to events, exhibitions and gatherings, our spaces are designed to encourage connection and give people the opportunity to do things that may not otherwise happen.

At the heart of Projekt is a belief that places are shaped by the people who use them. By bringing together different industries, disciplines and communities, we create environments where unexpected collaborations can happen and where spaces can become more than just buildings. Estudio Nuk is an extension of this approach.

Our work is rooted in people, place and cultural exchange.

The residency was created to explore how cultural exchange can open new perspectives and create meaningful connections between the UK and Mexico. It offers artists the opportunity to spend time immersed in a different environment, connect with new communities and develop work outside of their usual surroundings.

During our time in Mérida, we built relationships with people who shared our belief in creating spaces for connection and collaboration. One of those relationships led us to support and invest in Espacio47, a space we believe has an important role to play in Mérida’s growing cultural scene. As part of Estudio Nuk, Espacio47 will help visiting artists connect with local communities, makers and opportunities across the city.

For Projekt, Estudio Nuk represents the same principles that guide our work in London: creating opportunities, bringing people together and giving ideas the space to grow.
